Systems shaped to serve human agency

OUR MISSION

The Decentralised Human Architecture (DHA) Foundation exists to protect and advance human agency. We believe that systems should be transparent, accessible and accountable to the people who rely on them.

WE EXIST TO FOSTER DIGITAL EQUALITY

Advocating for systems built on our pillars

Fostering collaboration across sectors

Supporting aligned initiatives

The DHA Foundation supports the growth of shared digital infrastructure, while encouraging decentralised participation. We don’t define what solutions must look like.
We help create the environment where they can emerge, evolve, and scale.

Information Asymmetry Drives the Digital Divide

Information asymmetry occurs when access to information and control over it is uneven. In digital systems, this often means individuals have limited visibility into how their data is used, while platforms and institutions retain disproportionate control. This imbalance reduces transparency, weakens trust, and limits meaningful participation in the digital world.

How we work:
Supporting initiatives and projects

The DHA Foundation stewards initiatives and supports projects that contribute to open and accessible digital public goods. We focus on enabling systems and communities that align with our principles of transparency, participation, and long-term sustainability.

Open systems require open processes

How projects are selected is just as important as the projects themselves. The DHA Foundation applies open procurement principles to ensure funding and opportunities are fair, transparent, and accountable. We believe that trust is built through visibility and participation.

Projects are evaluated based on their alignment with the Foundation’s principles and their ability to contribute meaningful value to the wider ecosystem. By establishing open and accountable processes, we aim to support projects in a way that is fair, measurable, and aligned with the communities these systems are designed to serve.

This approach lays the groundwork for how the DHA Foundation operates today and how it plans to grow into the future.

2026 INITIATIVES

To advance our vision of human agency, we support initiatives aligned with our purpose.

We facilitate, promote, and advocate for these initiatives, rather than dictating what should be built.

We aim to empower individuals and communities to build systems that reflect their needs and values.

01

Decentralised Human Architecture Protocol

The Decentralised Human Architecture (DHA) Protocol is a set of shared rules agreed by its participants, designed to separate governance, economics, and technology so each can evolve independently.

It operates on principles of transparency, participation, and user control, ensuring that no single entity dictates how the system develops.

These principles make the DHA Protocol a flexible point of engagement, allowing organisations and communities to build, use, and adapt digital systems for their own needs, while contributing to a more connected and contextualised global data ecosystem.

02

Public Goods

Building a more equitable digital future requires infrastructure that is designed, built, and shared for the public good.

The Digital Public Goods initiative focuses on developing and supporting Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), which are foundational systems that enable inclusive access to essential services, such as identity, payments, and data exchange.

Alongside this is the Public Goods Network, a collaborative ecosystem of partners and communities working together to guide the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of this infrastructure.

Creating shared digital foundations that enable participation, unlock opportunity, and distribute value more equitably across society.

GET INVOLVED

This is a collective effort.

Building more equitable digital systems requires participation from: communities, governments, innovators and partners. Meaningful change doesn't scale through control. It scales through through participation.
